CEIBS Institute of European Economics

The CEIBS Institute of European Economics was upgraded and expanded from the former Economic Research Institute of Central and Eastern Europe and is housed within the CEIBS Lujiazui International Institute of Finance to strengthen CEIBS’s capacity in area studies focused on Europe.

As one of the first pilot institutions designated by Shanghai for the development of area and country studies centers, the Institute focuses on three core research areas:

• EU economic policy,
• China–EU trade and economic relations,
• China–Central and Eastern Europe cooperation.
